The Clearblue Fertility Monitor Touch Screen works in conjunction with the Clearblue Fertility Monitor Test Sticks, 30 Fertility Tests to monitor your ovulation. This test set checks your hormone levels of estrogen and luteinizing hormone (LH) to find your most fertile days (about a six-day timeframe each month). It also helps you to find your peak two-day period of most fertility.

A calendar on the monitor tells you your fertility information. The test lets you monitor your cycle length (as long as it’s between 21 and 42 days). Track your period, testing window, and fertile days using alarms and a monitor to help you take out the guesswork. You can even have the monitor tell you daily if you have a low, high, or peak chance of getting pregnant.

The monitor tracks your information so well that it is proven to increase your chances of getting pregnant by 82% by the first cycle of use. Record all of your information and check out all of your cycle information on one compact screen. You can use either monitoring tests or pregnancy tests with this device, and it will even tell you when your period is due.

Finally, keep all of your information in one place to reduce the stress of using a monitor. It comes in a white and purple square with an easy-to-read screen. Now when it’s time for your next appointment with your doctor, you can take the little device with you and share all of your data with ease.

The Mira Fertility Tracking Monitor Kit is ready to help you figure out your fertility cycle and get pregnant. It’s literally the only purpose for this device, and the company takes its job seriously. It’s an FDA-certified fertility and ovulation tracker with an app that works on both iOS and Android devices using Bluetooth.

Mira is 99% accurate at detecting the LH hormone but does not check for estrogen levels. It gives the specific concentration levels to help increase your chances of conceiving by helping you not to miss your fertile window each month. To use, you simply dip the test wands into your urine and then into the analyzer.

The rest of the work is done for you as the device reads your test strips and sends the data to your phone. From there, you get data tailored to your fertility. You will need to purchase more wands to continue testing, and this is much more expensive than the other options above.

Femometer Ivy – Smart Digital Ovulation Predictor Kit

With the Femometer Ivy – Smart Digital Ovulation Predictor Kit you can monitor your fertility cycle with an easy to use device and app. Inside the package, you’ll find a device, a urine cup, and six test strips, along with the instructions. It monitors your LH levels and sends them straight to an app on your phone, so you can get pregnant three times faster.

The test strips offer high sensitivity and accuracy with a larger LH testing range at 0~65mIU/ml, while most only test at 0~25mIU/ml, so you have more control over your fertility. This kit can detect your best peak for a higher chance of getting pregnant. You get easy-to-read results from indicator lights, and the app uses simple charts while also storing your data and offering insights to pinpoint your ovulation cycle.

The monitor has three lights. If you get two plus signs, you are at a peak. With one plus sign, you have a high fertility level, and minus means you aren’t fertile. Know exactly when to be intimate for a better chance at natural pregnancy.

Clearblue is dedicated to helping you get pregnant, and they offer another option for fertility monitoring. The Clearblue Advanced Digital Ovulation Predictor KIT offers a simplistic method of finding out when you are fertile and ovulating so you can increase your odds of getting pregnant.

Find out why OB-GYNs love Clearblue and all of their different monitoring options. The sticks can identify four or more fertile days, which is two more days than some other tests available at drugstores. Moreover, the test checks for both LH and estrogen hormone levels to more accurately determine your peak days to get pregnant.

Another advantage of the digital ovulation predictor test is that the digital test gives you a clear smiley test when it’s baby-making time. If the smiley face has lines around it, then you are in the high level of ovulation, while an empty circle shows a low chance of pregnancy.

What this test doesn’t do is actually monitor your day-to-day fertility and journal it. Instead, it works on a need-to-know basis. You will still need to track your information on an app or a calendar. The company recommends you test once a day.

The Easy@Home Bluetooth Basal Body Thermometer uses Bluetooth to share your temperature results with an app on your phone. Basal Body Temperature (also called BBT) refers to the natural decrease in body temperature when a woman drops an egg and stays lower for several days. The temperature then rises again after ovulation. A Bluetooth thermometer tracks your temperature to know when that drop happens to know when you are fertile without checking hormone levels.

When you use this special thermometer, your temperature loads straight to the app to show a record of your temperature and thereby your most fertile days. It can also help you track future fertile days. No more writing down your temperature or doing all of the legwork. The app includes cloud storage, auto BBT curve, device battery level, an alarm, a hormone test, and it’s switchable to Celsius or Fahrenheit.

This thermometer does not come with a readout screen but does come with a purple cover. No buttons or switches, just take your temperature with a high precision device to capture even the smallest fluctuation. Moving the lid turns the thermometer on, making it easy and discreet to use for busy women. Take charge of your fertility with this inexpensive and easy method of monitoring.

If you are looking for a wearable fertility tracker, then check out the Tempdrop Fertility Tracker Smart Thermometer. Like many of the others, this uses basal body temperature to track your fertility. This one uses a bracelet-style thermometer to improve your chances of getting pregnant. The sympto-thermal method measures your temperature to get rid of the guesswork.

To correctly measure your BBT, wear the Tempdorp on your upper arm overnight. This allows you to sleep in because you don’t need to wake up early to take your temperature. The device learns your unique patterns with a patent-pending learning algorithm. It also learns your cycle and delivers your temperature to filter out inconsistencies for better predictions for a more accurate fertility window. It works with you even if you work nights, have hormonal imbalances, or PCOS.

You get complete freedom as the information syncs with your favorite apps, or you can manually enter the information. It’s easy and comfortable to use but comes with a fairly high price. The only problem is the teardrop shape may poke your skin and cause discomfort for sensitive skin.

How to Choose a Fertility Monitor

Many people need a little extra planning to get pregnant naturally. Knowing when you ovulate helps to set the stage for having sex at the right time to create a baby.

Types of Fertility Monitors

Fertility monitors tell you when you are ovulating using two methods to determine if your body has an egg ready to be fertilized:

Hormone Monitoring

Hormone monitoring measures the applicable hormones to figure out if they are elevated enough to indicate you are fertile. Two main hormones prepare your body for fertilization, including luteinizing hormone (LH) and estrogen, which is the female hormone. Both of these hormones help to enable the female reproductive system to do its job of preparing for and creating a baby.

LH stimulates the ovaries to release an egg and to start progesterone production. This is a hormone that prepares the uterine lining to create a nurturing space for a fertilized egg. Interestingly enough, it shows up in a woman’s urine just before ovulation begins.

Progesterone is currently only detectable via a blood test or saliva test and not available for home use yet. Estrogen is produced in the brain and also helps to send signals to the body to prepare for ovulation. Both LH and estrogen can be checked at home with newer technologies.

Basal Body Temperature Monitoring

Basal body temperature monitoring refers to checking your temperature to know if you are ovulating. The word basal refers to your resting body temperature. At ovulation, you will see a slight increase in your resting temperature

You can use the basal body temperature method to determine when you should have sex for the best possible outcome. Some women even use this method of ovulation tracking to help avoid pregnancy.

However, for the BBT method, you do need a sensitive monitor that can detect even the smallest changes for the best accuracy and, thereby, the best chance of getting pregnant.

If you want to, you can use both hormone and basal methods to find the absolute peak time to have sex and create a fertilized egg.

Monitor Usage

Both methods of monitoring fertility at home are very easy to use. With the basal body temp method, you simply need to use a thermometer under your tongue or armpit for one minute or less. With the hormone method, you need to pee into a cup and stick a test strip in, then read the results.

Using both together would only take a couple of minutes a day to test, and if you use an app or the Clearblue monitor, you can track all of your information easily for quick access to charts and your cycle. Store other information such as your period and when you have sex to help keep a full spectrum of your fertility situation.

Cost

The basal body temperature method is cheaper than the hormone method because you do not have to buy any other parts besides the thermometer and a method of storing the information. You could even use a calendar or notebook to store the information. Many apps now help you to better figure out when you are ovulating by using simple math, but both methods will increase your accuracy odds.

Some of the monitors above, even the thermometers, are quite expensive. If you have the money and want more accuracy, then the hormone method of monitoring is the best option and, depending on which you pick, not too far out of anyone’s budget.

Even combining two methods doesn’t have to break your budget.

FAQs About the Best Fertility Monitors

Are fertility monitors accurate?

Absolutely. However, you do need to use fertility tests at the right time of day to get the most accurate reading. Make sure to read the instructions for the best time of day to take your test to get the most accurate tests.

When used correctly, ovulation tests can be up to 99% accurate, but cannot confirm if ovulation has actually taken place.

Will my fertility monitor tell me if I’m pregnant?

Some of the monitors above can tell you if you are pregnant. As a matter of fact, a few even come with pregnancy strips or testing built-in.

Basal body methods cannot tell you if you are pregnant. If you choose this method you will want to pickup up some pregnancy tests too.

Which fertility monitors should I avoid?

You should avoid using wearable trackers if you have sensitive skin. Others may not feel comfortable wearing vaginal monitors. Not only can these methods move or come off or out completely, but they can also cause discomfort, and they cost a significantly higher amount.
